Bhupen Hazarika - A gem to the Indian music

Bhupen Hazarika(1926-2011)
Dr. Bhupen Hazarika who was considered as uncrowned king of north-east india's culture world passed away on 5th of november,2011.He was known for the work he did,lets  have a look back on the life of this legendary singer.

He was born in the year 1926 in assam,and he did his inter in arts in Guwahati and to do his B.A he then moved to Banaras Hind University(BHU) in 1944 and M.A in political science in 1946.Then he moved to New York USA where he stayed for five years and completed his PhD in mass communication from Columbia university.
He began his career as a child actor in the second talkie film 'indramalati' in 1939.
He received President's award for best film maker thrice for 'Shakuntala(1960)','Pratidhwani(1964)','Loti Ghoti(1967)',which till date no other person in our film industry has won.He was also Chairman of Central Board of Film Censor  for 9 years till 1990.
The country bestowed its greatest honor to him by giving him Padmashree award in 1977.
